| After four hours of testimony from parents, K-12 and higher ed students, clergy, business people, educators, grandparents, and other concerned citizens, (as well as anti-tax activists), the House Education Committee today passed House Concurrent Resolution 1002, known as "DECIDE".
If placed on the ballot by the legislature and passed by the voters in November, DECIDE would give authority to the legislature to raise revenues for education -- preschool through higher education.
House Ed Committee Chairman Mike Merrifield noted that the DECIDE hearing elicited more testimony than any other legislation so far this session.
From Fox-31 news:
The hearing and vote also received detailed coverage from Ed News Colorado, the Denver Post, the Associated Press, the Durango Herald, the Colorado Statesman, and the Colorado News Agency.
And now, on to the Senate Education Committee on April 29. |
